For some, it represents an opportunity for renewal. For others, a serious source of concern. And for many faithful who love Tradition, an inevitable question arises:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Is the Synodal Church becoming less truly Catholic?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is not a light question. It is a concern born from love, not fear. From a desire for fidelity, not rebellion. And above all, from a deep longing: <strong>that the Church be the one Christ founded, not the one the world wishes for.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Come with me on this journey that seeks to illuminate, form, and help you discern clearly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\ud83d\udd4a\ufe0f 1. What Does It Really Mean to Be Catholic?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Being Catholic is not a sentimental label or a cultural belonging.<br>It is a <strong>theological<\/strong>, <strong>historical<\/strong>, and <strong>supernatural<\/strong> reality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Being Catholic means:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Professing <strong>one faith<\/strong> that is unchanging.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Belonging to <strong>one Church<\/strong> founded by Christ, not by committees.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Living under <strong>one authority<\/strong>: the Pope and the bishops in communion with him.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Defending <strong>one Tradition<\/strong> that is living, not adjustable according to surveys.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Walking in <strong>the truth<\/strong>, not in opinion.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>As St. Paul reminds us:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>\u201cBut even if we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed.\u201d<\/em><br>(Galatians 1:8)<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>A Church that adapts to the world loses the ability to save it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\ud83e\udded 2. What Is Synodality? Theory vs. Practice<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In its origin, synodality is not a bad thing.<br><em>\u201cSynod\u201d<\/em> means <em>to walk together<\/em>. A beautiful concept when integrated into the hierarchical structure willed by Christ.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The problem today is that many current promoters of synodality:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Present it as <strong>a spiritual democracy<\/strong> where doctrine can be discussed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Allow <strong>sociopolitical opinions<\/strong> to mix with faith.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Promote the idea of a Church that <strong>listens to the world<\/strong> more than to Christ.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Blur the authority of the Magisterium.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Build a horizontal Church, not a vertical one.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The risk is clear:<br><strong>confusing participation with authority, listening with relativism, dialogue with renunciation.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u26a0\ufe0f 3. Why Do Many Faithful Say \u201cThe Synodal Church Is Less Catholic\u201d?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Here are several legitimate reasons:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>1. Because defined truths are being questioned<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Topics such as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>sexual morality,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>sacraments,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>priesthood,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>liturgy,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the identity of the ordained ministry\u2026<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2026already defined by the Magisterium, are presented as \u201copen issues.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But revealed truth <strong>is not up for vote<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>2. Because sentiment is exalted over doctrine<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>A Church that prioritizes \u201clistening\u201d over truth ends up treating faith as a human construction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>3. Because spiritual authority is weakened<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>If the Church functions as an assembly of opinions, what purpose does the Magisterium serve?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>4. Because identity is diluted<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Church stops announcing Christ and instead speaks about:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>sentimental ecology,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>sociology,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>psychology,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>political activism.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Good causes\u2026<br>but <strong>not its main mission<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>5. Because Tradition is marginalized<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Everything that smells of continuity, doctrine, traditional liturgy, or moral clarity is labeled \u201crigid.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But Christ was not ambiguous.<br>Nor is the faith.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\ud83d\udcdc 4. A Brief Historical Look<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This is not the first time the Church has faced internal tensions between:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>fidelity<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>adaptation<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>It happened with:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>the Arians,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the Protestants,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the Modernists,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the Jansenists.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>And the faithful Church always prevailed.<br>But always at a cost:<br><strong>the confusion of the faithful.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Today we are living through a new variation of modernism:<br>a fluid, emotional, subjective spirituality\u2026<br>that seeks to \u201copen to the world\u201d but risks <strong>losing its soul<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\ud83d\udd25 5. The Truth Does Not Change: The Theological Foundation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Jesus Christ founded <strong>a visible and hierarchical Church<\/strong>, with authority to teach, sanctify, and govern.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jesus did not say:<br>\u201cAsk what the majority thinks.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>\u201cHeaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.\u201d<\/em><br>(Matthew 24:35)<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>The Church does not invent the truth:<br><strong>it guards it<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Church does not adapt the Gospel:<br><strong>it proclaims it<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Church does not consult surveys:<br><strong>it listens to the Holy Spirit<\/strong>, who does not contradict Himself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\ud83d\udee1\ufe0f 6. How to Remain Faithful in Times of Confusion<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Here begins the pastoral and practical part:<br>what <strong>you<\/strong> can do today to remain firm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u2705 1. Return to the sources<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Daily Gospel<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Catechism<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Church Fathers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Traditional doctrine<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>These sources do not change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u2705 2. Strengthen your sacramental life<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Frequent Confession<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mass with devotion<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Eucharistic Adoration<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Daily Rosary<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>A praying Church never loses its way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u2705 3. Form your conscience, not your opinion<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>A Christian conscience is not built on feelings but on solid formation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u2705 4. Discern ambiguous discourse<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Not every \u201cnovelty\u201d comes from the Holy Spirit.<br>Sometimes it comes from the spirit of the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u2705 5. Seek faithful priests<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Not perfect\u2014faithful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u2705 6. Keep charity, even in disagreement<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Fidelity is not aggressiveness.<br>Defending truth without love <strong>distorts<\/strong> truth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u2705 7. Do not abandon the Church<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>When a storm hits, the solution is <strong>not<\/strong> to jump off the boat\u2014<br>but to remain where Christ is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\ud83d\udcd8 Theological\u2013Pastoral Practical Guide<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>To Live Catholic Truth in Times of Synodal Confusion<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>1. Basic theological criterion:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Anything that contradicts:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Scripture,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tradition,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>defined dogmas,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the constant Magisterium\u2026<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>cannot come from the Holy Spirit.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>2. Key pastoral question:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Does this bring me closer to Christ and the life of grace\u2026<br>or does it make me comfortable with the world?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>3. Rule for spiritual discernment:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Whatever dilutes truth is always suspicious.<br>Whatever strengthens faith, purity, obedience, and holiness\u2026 is from God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>4. Rule for daily life:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Do small things with great fidelity:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Bless your home<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pray as a family<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Teach the faith without fear<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Live with coherence<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be a silent and firm witness<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>5. Rule of hope:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Church always passes through crises\u2026<br>but <strong>Christ never abandons His Bride.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u2b50 Conclusion:<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Being Catholic Today Is an Act of Courage\u2026 and of Love<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Perhaps the Synodal Church, as some present it, may seem less Catholic.<br>But <strong>Christ\u2019s Church remains Catholic<\/strong>, holy, and apostolic.<br>Unchanging in its truth, even if some wish to dilute it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Your mission is not to criticize from the outside, but to <strong>remain faithful inside<\/strong>.<br>To be light when there is darkness.<br>To be firm when there is confusion.<br>To be humble when others shout.<br>And above all\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>To be truly Catholic, not fashionably Catholic.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Because in the end, Christ will not ask for surveys.<br>He will ask for fidelity.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Why Many Perceive It as Becoming Less Catholic.
