Confessing these sins is a step toward self-awareness, repentance, and spiritual growth within Catholicism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1. <strong>Pride<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Believing oneself to be morally or spiritually superior to others, especially to non-believers or those who think differently.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Refusing to admit mistakes and acting arrogantly or dismissively toward others.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Rejecting correction from others or the Church, believing oneself to be more knowledgeable or &#8220;better&#8221; than others.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Constantly criticizing others for their appearance, lifestyle, or decisions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Posting on social media to present oneself as the &#8220;perfect&#8221; example of faith in order to receive praise.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. <strong>Greed<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Hoarding wealth or possessions without sharing with those in need, even when able to do so.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Obsessing over financial success or social status, prioritizing it over family and faith.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Failing to pay employees a fair wage or exploiting people in vulnerable situations.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Refusing to contribute to the support of the Church or charitable causes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Taking financial opportunities unethically, such as in fraudulent or speculative investments.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3. <strong>Lust<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Consuming pornographic content and justifying it as &#8220;normal&#8221; or &#8220;harmless.&#8221;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Engaging in sexual relationships outside of marriage, or using apps and social networks for casual encounters.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maintaining an affair and systematically hiding it.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Obsessing over one\u2019s own or others\u2019 physical appearance in a lustful way.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fantasizing about others or entertaining impure thoughts, even within marriage.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4. <strong>Wrath<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Responding aggressively on social media to people with differing opinions, especially on matters of faith and morals.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Holding grudges against someone who has committed an offense or who thinks differently.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reacting with physical or verbal violence toward family members, coworkers, or strangers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Wishing ill upon someone who has succeeded or obtained something one desired.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Being unable to forgive, even after many years, harboring resentment or desires for revenge.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">5. <strong>Gluttony<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Regularly eating or drinking in excess to the point of harming one\u2019s health.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Using food or drink as a way to fill an emotional void, without control or moderation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Spending excessively on luxurious meals or expensive drinks solely for personal gratification.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Wasting food without consideration for the needy or the environment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Drinking alcohol or consuming drugs to the point of losing self-control and doing things one regrets.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">6. <strong>Envy<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Desiring someone else\u2019s position, achievements, or material possessions and feeling bad about others&#8217; success.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Obsessively comparing oneself to others on social media, developing a sense of inferiority or resentment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Secretly wishing for someone\u2019s downfall or for them to lose what they have.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Criticizing or discrediting others simply because they have something one desires.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Being unable to genuinely rejoice in the successes of friends or family.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">7. <strong>Sloth<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Neglecting to attend Mass or avoiding the sacraments out of laziness or lack of interest.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ignoring family, work, or spiritual responsibilities, putting them off for &#8220;later.&#8221;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Avoiding prayer or personal reflection, preferring to spend time on superficial activities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Spending excessive time on social media, video games, or entertainment without any edifying purpose.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Postponing repentance or personal conversion indefinitely, thinking &#8220;there will be time later.&#8221;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Each capital sin manifests in different ways in the modern context, and this list reflects how they may appear today.
